Apocalypto

Story:
Flint Sky was leading his son, Jaguar Paw and others to hunt a tapir in the Mesoamerican jungle at the early 16th century. They managed to hunt the tapir while happily dividing the meat, they encounter a procession of traumatized and fearful refugees. They told that their village has beem ravage and they are asking permission to passed through. Flint Sky saw fear in Jaguar Paw's eyes and advice him not to let the fear deep into him.

Living in a happily village, Blunted was unable to make his wife pregnant. Therefore, everyone say he is useless. In the meanwhile, Jaguar Paw's wife, Seven was pregnant. During that night, Jaguar Paw dream of the refugees warn him to run. The next morning, a group of raiders lead by Zero Wolf came and attack the village. Jaguar Paw managed to send Seven and his son to a dry well before someone saw them. He then rushed back to punch off a raider who's trying to kill his father. But Jaguar Paw was defeated by Zero Wolf. The raider who has been punch off by Jaguar Paw is Middle Eye who is a bastard and he slice off Flint Sky's throat in front of Jaguar Paw for revenge. Flint Sky last word for his son is not to fear.

The captives are all brought towards the Maya City and they have gone through high and low until the children cannot cross through the big deep river. They passed through a place and saw a little girl with diseased and she make an omen and said a jaguar will ended these cruel raiders' life. While arriving at the Maya city, guys were color into blue while the woman are sold as slaves in the market. The high priest of Maya is doing the sacrifice ceremony for the god Kukulkan by digging out the heart of the captives and chopped off their head. When Jaguar Paw was about to sacrifice, eclipse came. The Mayan think this is the sign of the satisfied of the god and release the captives.

The raiders then brought all the captives to a field and told them if they managed to run through the place into the corn field, they will be set free. But during the run of the captives, most of them were killed. When its time for Jaguar Paw to run, he managed to run into the field and kill Zero Wolf's son, Cut Rock. Zero Wolf gone wild and together with his raiders, they went to hunt for Jaguar Paw. In the meanwhile, Seven was about to give birth in the well and was having difficulty to climb out of the deep well with her son, Turtles Run.

Jaguar Paw's mind is filled with his wife and son's safety. He run and run till he jump down the waterfall, but the raiders came along too. Jaguar Paw even falled into the quick sand and almost killed himself. He then realized he cannot run forever, he has to find a way to kill those raiders. He then find the poisonous frog, use its poison fluid as darts to kill some of the raiders and hand-to-hand combat and defeated Middle Eyes. In the end, he get Zero Wolf into the Tapir trap and killed him.

While still running off from another 2 raiders, they came to a beach and saw Spanish Ship on the sea and people coming in small boats. When the 2 raiders were stunned, Jaguar Paw when back to the well and save his family. Finally, they saw the ship, Seven was asking whether they should follow the europian but Jaguar Paw said they need a new beginning and went off with his family into the jungle.

The movie starts with the epigraph of Will Durant: "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within". I believe this is same and applied to modern country too...

Love Mel Gibson movie, think he's good in it. And i feel so lucky i m in the modern era now, can't bear to go through the life in the uncivilized period... hahaha~
