 Story: 

After Sing has won the competition last year, he went to travel and left Blackie Tat alone to face Chan Chung who has been challenged again by Huang Guang again. After searching up and down, Blackie Tat found Yau Hei who is believe to be the next gambler wonder. However, after introduced Yau Hei to Chung, Blackie Tat realized that Yau Hei is not as great as she said, they bet Sing's sister Mui for help. 

Mui is reluctant to help Hei at first, but after being help by Hei to know B more & knowing that Hei needs the money to save her sick brother, Mui decided to help Hei in beating down Guang in the next gambling competition...

L² Comment:

This is the sequence of 赌圣 but Stephen Chow only came out in the beginning and end of the movie as a guest appearance... Dodo Cheng & Anita Mui tried to create the girl power but not really success like the first movie. Even so, both of them still managed to win some applause from their own fans for this movie. Too bad, there's no further sequence on this 赌霸 after this...

Story: 

 Gao & Chao got a map to find a treasure from the Qin Dynasty morturary, together with the 3 police officers, they went into it and battle with the Qin corpse to get the thing that they wanted.

L² Comment:

Well, seriously this kind of black comedy is often show on the 80s & 90s HK blockbuster and most of them have Sandra Ng in it. The storyline is quite normal and not very memorable, basically its just for a good laugh and not really gonna watch it unless i have nothing better to do so~

 Story:

 Loy is a 41-year-old bachelor who lives with his widowed mother and aunt in Wan Chai. Loy's mother, disappointed by his bachelorhood, often sets up match-making lunches for him with various girls. On the other side of Hennessy, orphaned Oi Lin lives with and works for her uncle and aunt in a bathroom appliances store on Lockhart Road. She is in a relationship with Xu, who is in prison. Her uncle, who disapproves of Xu, sets up a match-making lunch for her and Loy. Neither Loy or Oi Lin are attracted to one another, but the families continue to set up meetings for the two. After a few meetings and dates, the two eventually strike up a friendship after discovering a mutual interest in detective stories.

Both Loy and Oi Lin's families misunderstand the newfound friendship as romance and begin discussing wedding banquet arrangements. Loy explains to his mother this is not the case, and that Oi Lin has a boyfriend. Annoyed, Loy's mother calls Oi Lin's aunt and yells at her, calling her and her husband cheats. Oi Lin becomes upset with Loy, and breaks off their friendship. During this time she shares a flat with her boyfriend Xu, who has just been released from prison, and Loy gets back together with his ex-girlfriend Man Yu.

As time passes, Loy and Oi Lin grow increasingly uneasy about their relationships with Man Yu and Xu respectively. Loy tells Man Yu that he is finally in love with someone, but does not know if he is good enough for her. In the meantime, Oi Lin breaks up with Xu. Furious, Xu tracks down Loy and beats him up. Loy, though severely injured and no match for Xu, claims he is the better man because he can make Oi Lin smile. Xu finally understands, and leaves Oi Lin to get on with her life.

Loy's mother finally marries her accountant at the Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry to everyone's delight. After the wedding, Loy goes to the Cha Chaan Teng (where he'd previously had a date with Oi Lin) and finds Oi Lin. He joins her there, and the two enjoy the afternoon together.

 Hmm. how should i express my feeling after this movie? Its definitely not a romance movie; not a comedy... i can only categtorize it as a drama type. Love all of them, feel like all the actors & actresses have their own acting style, but all these styles just mix together and created a sparks~ A nice movie to watch...

It's a Mad Mad Mad World 3 富貴再三逼人

 Story:

Continue from the previous movie, Bill & his wife went to collect their winning money from the center. But their lottery-winning picture was shown everywhere in the foreign country which makes them feel uncomfortable. Bill and the family decided to go back to Hong Kong with Momo & Joe (who came to tackle Dai). Lai decided to stay back for her study with Shui.

Back to Hong Kong, the whole family become very arrogant and live like king. They requested the bank to prepare notes of HKD 3,000,000 for them to view. Bill's wife brought their old neighbours there and cause the robbery to happen. When the robberies gone with the money, they are back to the poor life again. Pauline wanna make her mother feel happy again, she makes a false lottery ticket and almost cause Bill's wife to be arrested but luckily was helped out by an old friend. Lai and Shui get married and went back to Hong Kong while Bill's wife stay with them when she gone into a fight with Bill. 

Finally Bill's wife lost all their money in a casino. While looking for her, Lai and Shui accidentally win a jackpot of HKD 200,000. And they money that got stole away was paid back by the insurance. Finally the family is rich again.

L² Comment:

This is the last movie of the trilogy comedy, of course it still got a lots of extended version. For me, this is not as good as the first two movies. Is it because Clifton is no more the director of this film? Or they have ran out of idea? Anyway, love the way they show all the cash in the bank~ kinda like that scene :P

 Story:

This round, Bill & his family decided to stay in their current lifestyle. So happened that Bill's boss thought Bill know about their anti money laundering, they send Bill & his family to Vancouver station. In the same time, Dai's company send her there for training and Lai went there to proceed her study. The whole family went there together and Dai met her old friend Momo in the airplane.

When they are there, they mess up things and lots of funny things appeared. They try to live in the western style but it seems like that not really goes. Bill's wife is pregnant this time, but she still always buy the lottery even if she's in Vancouver. Bill accidentally let his boss know that he knows nothing about the laundering and he was fired and sent back to Hong Kong, but before this Bill's wife has delivered in the Vancouver.

They went back while Dai & Lai continue their life in Vancouver. In Hong Kong, Bill's wife discovered the hit the lottery in Vancouver and the money has to be drawn before Christmas. They went to the boss to borrow some money but was rejected, luckily all the old neighbours helped out and donated money to them. Bill's boss happened to be in financial problem and he decided to snatch the lottery ticket from Bill. The family fought against the bad boss in Vancouver and Pauline cycle her best to the station and realized she was still 10 minutes late.

The family was sad and they went to eat in a restaurant, Bill stay back to do the dishes cleaning, the whole family help out. And they found out Vancouver is one day later than Hong Kong's time zone. In the end, the family get the money and become rich again.

L² Comment:

Non stop laughing even though i watched this again and again for so many times, this is a classic comedy :) The storyline is of course expected, but it still makes me laugh even though so many years later~

You Bet Your Life 一世好命

Story:

Yau and his wife are both gamblers, despite to get good luck, they are willing to do everything to have it including sucks the smell of a corpse. But apparently they failed and they decided to take care of a ghost so that they can win in which ever gambling they go for.

They chose the spirit of a dead hooker who has a lot of grudge. The ghost make a deal with them, on all money that they win, they must spend every cents of it before 7am on the next day, or else the ghost is entitled to took their life away. The money face couple agreed and from that onwards they got a lot of money to spend on. Together with the brother, three of them have their best luck ever and started to spend well on their livings. But on one night, they accidentally won an extra 100 million, but luckily they were rob. On the 7am, they only discover that they still have 10 dollars left.

Afraid the ghost will come back and took their life, they seek for help from a monk who has a good moral. But three of them has failed the promise and the monk can't do anything to fight with the ghost but only make a new agreement. They have to gamble with the ghost and if they win they will be able to escape. But out of 2 first game, Yau and the brother has been sacrifice. It's only left Yau's wife to fight against the ghost. Luckily, the two man has already took up the solution of the poison.

When the third game was won, the ghost didn't wanna get away so the monk appeared and vanish her. Finally, the three of them are safe.

L² Comment:

Sandra & Lowell is a good team in the comedy film as well, plus on with Gabriel, the 3 of them make me laugh non-stop like an idiot when i watched this movie last night. The movie is a bit out of "normal" stuff, but who cares right? This is a black comedy film and everything is possible~
