 Story:

Jack Lam, a self-employed stock trader who keeps his fortune amidst the 2008 financial tsunami, but loses his gold-digging girlfriend Lily. Now without a main squeeze, Jack meets the helpful and super-cute Angel, who advises him that he should learn to help others instead of just helping himself. The idea is that a revamped, selfless outlook on life will lead Jack to newfound success with love.

Jack agrees to become a good guy, whereupon his life does a 180 and he's showered with opportunities for love, Jack does get plenty of chances with the ladies, but everything seems to happen arbitrarily and not necessarily because he turns over a new leaf....

L² Comment: 

Basically this movie was filmed because of Wong Zho Lam popularity in the drama and as a host, therefore, pretty girls have to be there as his "gals"... but of coz, only those whom are not the TOP actresses acted in this movie. Overall the movie is just ok, predictable, not very funny though... a big surprise for me is to see Mui Siu Wai appeared in this movie :)

Story:

Due to a lot of limitation on tv program, the reality ghost tv decided to move this on the big screen. Inside the movie, they went to Thailand and Malaysia' Ipoh to discover about spirit and hex.

I'm a big fans of this tv show, i did went for support in the cinema when they go on big screen. It did freaks me out in the cinema, but watching it on youtube, i can view a lot of uncensored part which makes the whole thing more spooky...

 Story:

During the time Hong Kong was under British rule, there was a dark age when corruption and bribery were the order of the day. Chinese Chief Inspector Lak together with his gang, Unicorn, Gale and Gold laundered massive sums thereby making Hong Kong an empire of graft. Whenever they failed to apprehend the felons, Unicorn would get innocent victims, like Bong, to admit to the crimes.

Gale had nine "wives", all of them were actually mistresses of other constables, only Lily was loyal to him, but Gale was fascinated by the female drug lord, Rose. Lak was found having an affair with Unicorn's mistress. Unicorn beat up Lak and was demoted to stand guard at a reservoir.

In the early 1970s, the Governor of Hong Kong decided to clean up the police force. The ICAC was established, whose operation branch was headed by Yim. Bong and Unicorn also joined the ICAC. Despite threats of violence and intimidation, they managed to bring about the downfall of the empire of graft.

L² Comment:

 Love this movie very much, never know that Wang Jing can be good in directing a serious movie. The whole movie flows quite well and there is no any scene which i feel is an extra. Eason did a good job so as Tony, Anthony & Wang Jing who never failed to delivers the good acting. Natalie is surprisingly sexy in this movie and definitely KO Kate Tsui in this movie.

Story:

1906, a year which is very important for China. The time of revolution. Sun Yat Sen is gonna arrive in Guang Dong after his mate of war Yun been killed by Guo. Bai has gathered up everybody to protect Sun Yat Sen on his arrival. Tian is a former army and willing to help, but three days before Sun Yat Sen arrived, he was murdered. To make revenge, Hong the daughter joined force.

Tang is a businessman who support the team of revolution. His son Guang wanted to join forced but was rejected by the father. Tang's concubine, Ru begged Yang, her ex lover to protect Tang when Sun Yat Sen arrived. Guang sneaked out to Bai and willingly to help no matter how the servant Shi try to stop him. Tang eventually has helped Shi to proposed to Chun for a marriage after Sun Yat Sen left, therefore Shi join force too.

Tang has helped the beggar Yu to found his silver fan and he too willing to help for the country. Ming the ex monk also help out to protect. On the say Sun Yat Sen arrived, everyone fought and a lots of them sacrificed. In the end, Guang pretend to be Sun Yat Sen and mislead Guo away so that Sun Yat Sen can escaped safely. But this has cost Guang's life. But finally the revolution has successed.

L² Comment:

A bit regret that I missed out this great film in cinema last year. With a lot of huge casting from Hong Kong and China, and a preparation for more than 10 years, finally the film took place and show us what they have.

Winning a lot of awards including best film, best director for teddy chen, best lead actor for XueQi-Wang, best supporting actor for Nicholas Tse.

And don't miss out the NBA player, a Mongolian Bateer and super pop singer YuChun-Li have presented their first time in the big screen. Even Michelle Reis has came out for the show after her marriage.

The only failure would be Leon Lai. I just feel that his wig is so so weird... and his expression... gosh... how to explain... but simply not the right things... i dun knw why, but he seems like a big failure in all the movie!!!

Overheard 竊聽風雲

Story:

A team of CID is investigating the crime of money laundering, they used the eavesdrop machine for the investigation. Until one event when Yeung and Xiang heard the tips of getting a "must-raise" shares. Yeung request Xiang to delete the conversation of the criminal so that he can buy the share and earn money for his family as Yeung has cancer. But this was discovered by their senior Jun.

Jun request them to give up, but they continue until the sharemarket has stop the said share to be sell or buy. In the meanwhile, Jun was having an affair with Wan, Guang's ex wife. Jun is not able to face it and promise to help out Guang to plant the ctv in Wan's house. The share was back on market for the next day and they won a lot of money. Three of them kept this as their secret and put the money inside Xiang's house. But on their policeman's dignity, they decided to save someone who is going to be kill by Wah. Wah is the charity businessman who has actually did all the money laundering behind.

Jun, Yeung & Xiang were detected by Wah. Xiang was caught and strangled to death. Yeung's whole family was hit by a lorry and Yeung has lost one leg and one arm. Jun was caught and brought to a escorted place and shot to death. 2 years later, revenge take place. Jun was not dead yet, he went back to arrest Wah with enough evidence. During the way sending wah to police station, Wah realize Yeung is the driver. For his family, Yeung crash the whole car together with Wah inside down the bridge into the deep ocean.

L² Comment:

Seriously, the whole movie is good. But i should say that Daniel Wu's acting has spoiled the whole film. He's like a robot!!! Sean Lau is definitely cool, Louis Koo sacrifice his good looking image and wore a old look image. It also let me realize that once you've did something wrong, there's always a way for others to discover it. Scary huh?

The Storm Warriors 風雲 II

Story:

Lord Godless from Japan bring along his son, Heart and his armies and conquer China. They defeat Nameless and gang. But Nameless and others have took the solution and try to fight back with Lord Godless. But Lord Godless is too strong for them, even Whispering Wind and Striding Cloud can't defeat him. Therefore they have to retreat...

They met the Piggy King, Nameless request him to bring Wind and Cloud to see Lord Wicked. Lord Wicked has cut off his both hand years ago and was not able to fight against Lord Godless. So, Lord Wicked teach Wind to learn the devil wushu but he will have to control his devil heart in within. In the meanwhile, Nameless come and find Cloud and teach him all the wushu he has.

While both of them are learning new wushu, armies of Lord Godless came and attack. Left over Chu Chu and Second Dream to defeat them, when Second Dream was about to get killed, Wind came out and help, but devilish heart has control him. In another hand, Lord Godless force the China Emperor to bring him to take the King's spine, but they met up with Wind and Cloud. After a fight, both of them defeat Lord Godless and gang. But Wind gone away with the spine.

Cloud went to look for Wind, try to calm him down and call back his kind-hearted personality. But Wind kill Chu Chu but finally defeated by Cloud. Wind and Second Dream fall down the pitt of heel but Cloud went down and save them instead.

L² comment:

Personally, i prefer the first movie of the storm series. It is much more better than this one. Should be call this the storm poser instead of the storm warriors. I think the actor who has the most dialogue would be Simon Yam instead of Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok. One word, dissapointed
