Story:

Nina Sayers is a young dancer with a prestigious New York City Ballet company. She lives with her overbearing mother, Erica, a failed dancer turned amateur artist who tries to control much of Nina's life. The ballet company is preparing for a production of Swan Lake. The director, Thomas Leroy, has to cast a new principal dancer. The lead must be able to portray both the innocent, fragile White Swan and her darkly sensual, evil twin, the Black Swan. Nina is selected to compete for the part alongside several other dancers. The director does not intend to cast Nina as the Swan Queen. When Nina visits him to request the role, he tells her that her rigid technique makes her ideal for the White Swan, but that she lacks the passion to dance the Black Swan. When he forces a kiss on her, she bites him. Thomas sees her potential and gives her the role.

Nina displays a number of psychotic symptoms, including strong delusions and elaborate visual hallucinations. She begins to feel paranoid that Lily, her understudy, is determined to take the lead away from her. Thomas, meanwhile, becomes increasingly critical of Nina's "frigid" dancing as the Black Swan, and tells her that she should stop being such a perfectionist and simply lose herself in the Black Swan role. One evening Lily appears at Nina's door and invites her for a night out. Nina is hesitant at first but joins Lily after having an explosive argument with her mother. During the night, Lily offers Nina Ecstasy which lowers her inhibitions. Nina becomes sexually interested in not only the men at the bar, but Lily as well. Upon returning to the apartment, Nina has another fight with her mother. She barricades herself in her room and Nina hallucinates having sex with Lily. Nina wakes up alone and late for rehearsal the next morning, and rushes to make it on time. When she enters the studio, she finds Lily dancing as the Swan Queen in her absence. Furious, Nina confronts Lily, and asks her why she did not wake her up in the morning. Lily states that she spent the night with a man whom she met at the club and teases Nina for fantasizing about her.

The night before the ballet's opening, Nina continues to experience strong hallucinations. Nina awakes the night of the opening performance, locked in her bedroom with her mother. Nina's mother tells her that she called the ballet company and informed them that Nina wasn't feeling well and will not be able to perform. After violently forcing her mother to let her leave, Nina arrives at the theater to discover that Thomas has asked Lily to dance the Swan Queen in Nina's place. Nina ignores this development, prepares for the performance and convinces Thomas that she is able to dance.

The first act goes well until Nina is distracted during a lift by a hallucination and the glare of the overhead lights. The Prince drops her. Distraught, Nina returns to her dressing room and finds Lily there, dressed in the Black Swan costume. As Lily announces her intention to play the Black Swan, she transforms into Nina herself. Nina and her duplicate wrestle. Nina shoves her duplicate into the mirror, shattering it. She grabs a shard of glass and stabs her duplicate in the stomach. Upon realizing what she has done, Nina sees that the body is Lily's. Nina hides Lily's body, returns to the stage and dances the Black Swan passionately and sensually, growing black feathers, her arms becoming black wings as she finally loses herself and transforms into a black swan. At the end of the act, she receives a standing ovation from the audience, appearing normal from their point of view. When she leaves the stage, she finds Thomas and the rest of the cast congratulating her on her stunning performance. Nina takes Thomas by surprise and kisses him with a seductive power.

Back in her dressing room preparing for the final act, the dying of the White Swan, Nina is interrupted by a knock at her door. She opens it to see Lily, who has come to congratulate her on her performance as the Black Swan. Nina realizes her fight with Lily was another hallucination, but sees the mirror is still shattered. She notices a wound on her body and realizes that she stabbed herself, not Lily. Back on stage, Nina dances passionately and seamlessly as the White Swan. In the last moments of the ballet, when the White Swan throws herself off a cliff, she spots her mother weeping in the audience. The theater erupts in thunderous applause as Nina falls. As Thomas and the rest of the cast enthusiastically congratulate her on her performance, Lily gasps in horror to see that Nina is bleeding, and some of the cast run to get medical help. Though Nina lies wounded (and perhaps dying), she is content and satisfied with her performance. The film closes with Nina staring up at the stage lights while whispering "I felt it - Perfect - I was perfect," as the screen fades to white and the audience chants her name.

Yes, finally have the chance to watch this marvelous movie. Natalie Portman won several best actress awards based on her character as Nina. The whole movie is so cool, love both Natalie & Mila. Though Vincent Cassel is not that good looking, but i think he's hot. And he got several other French movie which he show his frontal nude. :)

Clash Of The Titans 2010

Story:

The film begins with the story of the Titans. The Titans were finally defeated by their sons Zeus , Poseidon ), and Hades , when Zeus convinced Hades to create a monstrous creature, the Kraken (made from Hades' flesh). Zeus became ruler of the heavens, Poseidon became king of the seas, and Hades (tricked by Zeus) was left to rule the Underworld. Zeus created humankind, and in time, humankind began to question the gods.

A millennium later, a fisherman named Spyros finds a coffin in the sea. A baby and his dead mother are in it. Spyros adopts the boy (whom he names Perseus) and raises him as his own son. Years later, the now adult Perseus is aboard a small fishing boat with his family, when they witness a group of soldiers from Argos destroying a massive statue of Zeus, as a declaration of war against the gods. Hades appears in the form of a flock of and massacres the soldiers. After Hades has achieved victory, he destroys the fishing boat as well, drowning Perseus' family.

Perseus is found by soldiers , though this term is Roman rather than Greek), who march him into Argos. He is brought before King Cepheus and Queen [[Cassiopeia ) , during their celebration of the war on the gods. Cepheus and Cassiopeia are oblivious to the lives already lost in the newly declared war. The King makes boastful statements to disrespect the gods, and the Queen compares their daughter [[Andromeda ) to the goddess [[Aphrodite]), much to their daughter's dismay. n Mount Olympus.

Hades argues that the gods must act with vengeance against the uprising, and Zeus is extremely angered, which gives Hades the opportunity to appear before his brother o convinces Zeus that he has to be allowed to destroy Argos. Hades appears in the courtroom, kills the remaining soldiers and ages Cassiopeia to the brink of death. Hades threatens that if Princess Andromeda is not sacrificed to appease the gods within ten days, Argos will be destroyed by the Kraken. As he departs, he identifies Perseus as a Demigod. Hermes ( the Messenger God informs Zeus that his son Perseus is alive in Argos. Zeus refuses to protect his son when he learns of this.

The King imprisons Perseus, because he will not fight with Argos against the gods. ] reveals to Perseus his true lineage. In order to punish King Acrisius for his own war on the gods, Zeus disguised himself as Acrisius and seduced Danaë, impregnating her. When Acrisius set Danaë and the baby Perseus adrift in their coffin, an enraged Zeus struck Acrisius with lightning leaving him hideously disfigured. She also tells Perseus she does not age as punishment for refusing to be seduced by the god Poseidon . After learning that killing the Kraken would allow him to have his revenge against Hades (whom he blames for his family's deaths) Perseus agrees to lead Argos' finest soldiers on a quest to find the . They are joined by a pair of monster hunters named Ozal and Kucuk . Io follows as well.

Hades finds Acrisius (now called Calibos) and reveals his plan to use the Kraken to destroy Argos, thereby strengthening himself and gaining his revenge against Zeus for his betrayal after the Titan battle. Hades imbues Calibos with superhuman powers in order to kill Perseus. While in the woods, Perseus discovers a sword forged in Olympus, as well as Zeus' sacred herd of flying horses, the Pegasi. Perseus refuses both the sword, which only he can use, and Pegasus, which the gods were offering as assistance, as Perseus does not wish to become a god. Calibos attacks the group and kills nearly all the praetorian guards and tries to murder Perseus, but is forced to flee after Draco cuts off his hand. However, Calibos' blood forms giant scorpions out of the sand, which attack Perseus and kill all of the guards, except for Draco , Solon ([[Liam Cunningham , Eusebios and Ixas (.

The survivors are saved by the , a band of former human shamans who have turned themselves into the Demons of Arabian mythology, by replacing their "battle wounds with charwood and black magic." Though they do not trust the Djinn at first until their leader Sheikh Suleiman (Ian Whyte) heals Perseus' wounds. When Solon and Draco see Suleiman healing Perseus, they think he is attacking him and try to save him. Suleiman effortlessly defeats all the warriors and says that the only way to help Perseus is by them all working together. The Djinn joins Perseus' group, as they too wish to see the gods overthrown.

The heroes go to visit the Stygian witches and are told that the solution lies with the head of the Gorgon Medusa, which could kill the Kraken by turning it to stone. When Perseus is warned that his group will die in the process, all of the Djinn, except for Suleiman, leave them. Ozal and Kucuk also leave, explaining that they cannot fight in the Underworld. Perseus is visited by Zeus who offers him asylum on Mount Olympus, but he refuses. Zeus gives him a golden drachma as a means to bribe Charon, for passage into the Underworld. In the battle with Medusa (Natalia Vodianova), the Gorgon shoots Solon, and he falls to his death. Medusa kills Ixas and Eusebios by petrifying them. Perseus then lures Medusa out, and Sulieman tries to behead her but only manages to cut through a few snakes on her head. Medusa traps Suleiman by coiling her tail around him and attempts to petrify him. Suleiman cannot be petrified and he self-destructs, blasting a part of her body by using his magic. Draco then sacrifices himself by distracting the injured Medusa, so that Perseus is able to behead her. Emerging from the Underworld, Perseus sees Calibos stab Io from behind. After a short duel, Perseus kills Calibos, using the sword from Olympus, which restores Calibos to human form. With his last breath, Calibos (now Acrisius) urges Perseus not to be like the gods. Perseus watches as Io is transformed into gold dust and is swept away to Olympus. He then rides Pegasus back to Argos, with Medusa's head.

In Argos, the Cult of Hades plots to sacrifice Andromeda to the Kraken. As the Kraken is released, Hades reveals to Zeus that the destruction of Argos will give him enough power to overthrow the other Olympians, ending Zeus's reign, as revenge on Zeus for cheating him, but Zeus reveals Perseus is still alive in Argos. Although Hades sends his harpies to kill Perseus, Perseus uses the head of Medusa to turn the Kraken into stone and saves Andromeda. Cepheus stops Prokopion, the cult leader, from killing Andromeda by grabbing his burnt arm, who in turn stabs Cepheus, but both Cepheus and Prokopion are then crushed by the Kraken's stone hand. Hades appears and smugly sneers that as he is immortal, Perseus cannot kill him. Perseus retorts that Hades can live forever, but not in the world of humans. He then uses the Sword of Olympus (amplified with Zeus' lightning) and throws it at Hades, hitting him in the chest with enough force to send Hades flying back into the Underworld (through the crack from which the Kraken emerged, which closes behind Hades). Andromeda asks Perseus to become king of Argos, but he declines. Zeus again offers Perseus his place on Olympus, but Perseus declines this as well. Zeus warns him that Hades will someday return for revenge again when humankind's fear is great. Since Perseus insists on staying on Earth, Zeus (before disappearing) resurrects Io, while Pegasus flies overhead. [edit] Alternate ending The special features of the Blu-ray has an alternate ending that was cut from the film. After defeating the Kraken and Hades, Andromeda falls into the sea and Perseus dives in to save her. When he reaches her, he embraces her with a passionate kiss, indicating that he fell in love with her, and she with him. After reaching the shore and regaining consciousness, Andromeda asks Perseus if he will stay and he says there is someone he needs to talk to, before kissing her again, indicating that he will come back. Getting on Pegasus, he flies to Mt. Olympus where he confronts Zeus, stating that he does not wish to be one of them and that any conflict between them has just started. After slamming his sword into the gods' map and shattering the models of every living person, he leaves and is seen flying on Pegasus over the sea, presumably back to Argos.

I have missed this movie in cinema, but luckily i watch it in DVD. Love Worthington and Gemma :) Both of them are hot. But the so-called-ugly Jane March in this film? Sorry, i dont even recognize and realize her existence, maybe too cheap gua... lol

Waterloo Bridge

Story:

World War II has just broken out and a soldier stops on Waterloo Bridge to reminisce. The film then cuts to a flashback to World War I with the young soldier Roy Cronin who has stopped on the bridge. An alarm sounds signaling an air raid and a group of girls pause on the bridge, arguing about what they should do. They turn to Roy and he tells them they should find cover. One of the girls in the group, Myra Lester, drops her purse in the road and dangerously retrieves it, along with her good luck charm, a billiken. Roy chastises her and the two run for the underground.

Once in the underground, Roy and Myra talk together and Myra invites Roy to her ballet performance. Roy declines, stating he has a dinner with a colonel, and expresses his regret. They part as Myra gives him her good luck charm. However, he dismisses the colonel's dinner and attends the performance. Afterwards, he sends a note to Myra asking her to dinner. The note is taken by Madame Olga Kirowa. Madame Kirowa orders Myra to write Roy a note declining the invitation. Meanwhile, Roy is waiting anxiously for word and, receiving the letter, begins to walk dejectedly away. However, Kitty stops him and arranges the date for Myra.

Myra and Roy spend a pleasant evening together, ending with a kiss. As they part, Roy explains he is to return to the battle-front. The following day, Myra, dejected, looks out her rainy window and sees Roy standing beneath it. She runs to him and the two agree to marry. She does not attend her ballet performance. Instead she says farewell to Roy, and is dismissed from the ballet. Kitty also quits the ballet.

Myra and Kitty rent a small apartment and Myra receives flowers from Roy. While waiting in a tea shop to meet Roy's mother for the first time, Myra reads in the paper that Roy has been killed. The proprietor of the tea shop gives her wine to revive her. Moments later Roy's mother arrives and a distressed Myra appears to behave apprehensively and impudently towards her, and slightly drunk into the bargain, while actually keeping from her the news of her son's death. Dejected, Roy's mother leaves and shortly thereafter Myra faints. Back at her apartment Myra grows depressed and Kitty buys her medicine with income she earned as a prostitute. Kitty lies to Myra and tells her that she has been working as a performer. Myra attends the performance of the play in which Kitty is supposedly acting, and comes back to the apartment, asking questions about the play. Myra then confronts Kitty. Kitty confesses and Myra, too, becomes a prostitute as a means of coping with their financial circumstances.

Myra works at Waterloo Station and, in the midst of attempting to pick up potential customers, sees Roy coming from the train. He greets her warmly and takes her to lunch where she acts strangely towards him. He assumes their engagement will go on as planned and Myra accepts his offer after his questions on whether or not she has moved on. The two go to his home in Scotland where she again meets his mother. His mother apologizes for leaving Myra at the restaurant as she had not known that Roy had falsely been reported as "dead". Myra and Roy’s mother become friends. Myra dances at a ball and speaks with Roy's uncle who tells her they are a proud and esteemed family, the Cronins, and that a sweet ballerina will be the perfect wife for Roy. Myra feels guilty and speaks with his mother, telling her the truth of her position. Myra then decides she can no longer carry on her facade. Roy sees her one last time and tells her of his excitement, before returning her good luck charm, stating that now that they will be married it doesn't matter which one of them has it.

Myra leaves and Roy, frantic, looks for her. He recruits Kitty's help and she takes him to Myra's haunts. He soon learns of her double life, but he still wishes to marry her and continues searching frantically for her. Myra, meanwhile, is on Waterloo Bridge and, seeing an approaching convoy of army ambulances, commits suicide by walking into their path. The film cuts back to Roy, years later, standing on the bridge, holding the good luck charm, and reminiscing of a love lost.

L² Comment:

A remake of the 1931 film starring the best actress Vivien Leigh at that moment must be a hit, together with the gorgeous Robert Taylor definitely will steal our breath away. But to me, the speed is a bit slow, maybe this is the way they film during that century.

"Auld Lang Syne" definitely become a hit after this movie. I'm sure a lot of you heard about it. Bravo to the song producer and he got 2 nomination but did not win.

Burlesque

Story:

Ali Rose is a young, hard-done-by girl who works in a bar in a small town in Iowa. Her boss hasn't paid her for two months and she has finally had enough. She takes what he owes her from the till and decides to leave for Los Angeles to pursue her dream of singing. After a fruitless day of searching for jobs in her new home, she winds up at a burlesque bar and becomes enthralled with the whole concept. She tries to persuade Tess to let her go on stage but Tess won't hear her out.

Ali meets the friendly bartender Jack and starts to waitress for him because she knows this is where she belongs. Later, Tess auditions Ali and hires her as a dancer to replace a newly pregnant dancer named Georgia. One night, Nikki, the most famous dancer in this bar, gets drunk and is not allowed to perform by Tess, so Ali takes her place. Nikki cuts the music out of jealousy, but Ali impresses everyone with her own voice. She becomes the new star of this bar and earns it a reputation.

Ali had some dates with a successful businessman named Marcus before she realizes that her true love is Jack, whom she has to share an apartment with after her hotel room is robbed. Meanwhile, running out of money, Tess is worried that she has to sell the bar to Marcus, who intends to tear down the club and build a skyscraper. Finally, Ali helps Tess solve the problem by selling the air right of this place to another businessman. Tess has financial resources and Ali stays at the bar as its most valuable star.

After waiting for a long time, Burlesque finally come to Malaysia. I was unable to watch it at the 1st time until now. A movie never to be missed. With her powerful voice and her voluptuous body, xtina definitely owned this film. But Cher's "The Last of Me" is certainly a great performance which is memorable enough until it won several awards, bravo.

The whole film is damn gorgeous, but not so compatible to the bitchy Moulin Rogue, lol. And Cam Gigandet's butt is a must-watch in the whole film, yummy~

Primal Fear

Story:

Martin Vail is a prominent defense attorney in Chicago who jumps at the chance to represent Aaron Stampler, a young, stuttering altar boy accused of murdering the Archbishop. At first interested primarily in the publicity that the case will bring, Vail comes to believe that his client is truly innocent, much to the chagrin of the prosecutor (and Vail's former lover), Janet Venable.

Vail discovers that powerful civic leaders, including the District Attorney, have lost millions in real estate investments due to a decision by the Archbishop not to develop certain church lands. The archbishop received numerous death threats as a result. He also learns that the archbishop had been sexually abusing altar boys, including Stampler.

Introducing this evidence, while it would make Stampler more sympathetic to the jury, would also give his client a motive for murder, something the prosecution otherwise has lacked. The trial does not proceed well for the defense, as there is considerable evidence against Stampler and public opinion holds him almost certainly guilty. When Vail confronts his client and accuses him of having lied, Aaron breaks down and transforms into a new persona, a violent sociopath who calls himself "Roy." He confesses to the murder of the archbishop and throws Vail against the wall, injuring him.

When this incident is over, Aaron appears to have no recollection of it. Molly Arrington, the psychiatrist examining Aaron, is convinced he suffers from multiple personality disorder due to childhood abuse by his own father. However, Vail cannot enter an insanity plea during an ongoing trial.

Vail sets up a confrontation in court. After Venable questions him harshly, Aaron turns into Roy and charges at her, threatening to snap her neck if anyone comes near him. Aaron is subdued by courthouse marshals and is rushed back to his cell. In light of Aaron's apparent insanity, the judge dismisses the jury in favor of a bench trial and then finds Aaron not guilty by reason of mental insanity, and remands him to a mental hospital. Vail visits to tell him this news. Aaron says he recalls nothing of what happened in the courtroom, having again "lost time." However, just as Vail is leaving, Aaron asks him to "tell Ms. Venable I hope her neck is okay," which is not something that Aaron should have been able to remember if he had "lost time." Vail points this out, whereupon Stampler grins slyly and reveals that he has been pretending to be insane the whole time. But he didn't make up the identity of Roy, he made up Aaron.

Stampler now admits to having murdered the archbishop, as well as his girlfriend, Linda, whom the cleric also had molested. Stunned and disillusioned, Vail walks away, with Roy taunting him from the cell.

Omg~ what a big yawn yawn on this film, the storyline is kinda old fashion (well, what can i expect? its an 1996 film anyway) and the pace was so slow. I fall asleep during half way of the movie~ heck

Edward Norton has been nominated in a few awards and won the Golden Globe best supporting actor based on this film. Well, he's cute anyway. But with Gere, Linney & Norton, these 3 beautiful creatures, the movie still can't attract me much~ damn...

Midnight Cowboy

The film follows the story of a young Texan named Joe Buck, who works as a dishwasher in a diner. As the film opens, Joe dresses himself like a rodeo cowboy, packs a suitcase, and quits his job. He heads to New York City in the hope of leading the life of a hustler.

Joe's naïveté becomes evident as quickly as his cash disappears upon his arrival in New York. He is unsuccessful in his attempts to be hired by wealthy women. When finally successful in bedding a middle-aged New Yorker, Joe's attempt to "talk business" results in the woman breaking down in tears and Joe giving her $20 instead. Joe meets the crippled Enrico "Ratso" Rizzo, a third-rate con man who easily tricks Joe out of $20 by offering to introduce him to a well-known pimp, who instead turns out to be a religious fanatic. Joe flees the scene in pursuit of Rizzo, but he is long gone.

Once broke, Joe is locked out of his hotel room for failure to pay the bill. He finally attempts to make money by submitting to oral sex from a young man in the seats of a movie theatre, but even this plan goes awry when the teenager reveals he has no money. The next day, Joe spots an unsuspecting Rizzo at a lunch counter. He angrily shakes Rizzo down for every penny he has — all sixty-four of them — but Rizzo surprisingly offers to help Joe, by sharing his place, an apartment in a condemned building. Joe reluctantly accepts the offer, and they begin a business relationship, helping each other pickpocket, steal and further attempt to get Joe hired as a stud. They are both completely alone without each other, and a genuine bond develops between the two men. Rizzo had a cough when the two first met during the summer and, as the story progresses into winter, his health steadily worsens. Joe and Enrico

The events of Joe's early life are told through fast-cutting flashbacks interspersed throughout the film. He had been to church and baptized as a boy but has only frightening memories of the experience. The two people Joe had loved were his grandmother, Sally Buck, and his onetime girlfriend, Crazy Annie. His grandmother raised Joe after his mother abandoned him but often left him alone to go off with boyfriends; one of them, a wrangler named Woodsy Niles, was Joe's only father figure. Annie had been a promiscuous girl who changed her ways after meeting Joe, but this did not sit well with the men of their hometown: the two were caught and raped by a gang of males. Annie was later sent to a mental institution; Joe joined the army. Sally Buck died while Joe was away serving in the Army, and Annie remains a constant presence in Joe's mind.

Rizzo's backstory comes mostly through the things he tells Joe. His father was an illiterate shoe shiner who worked deep in a subway station, developed a bad back, and "coughed his lungs out breathin' in that wax every day!" Rizzo learned shining from his father, but refuses to follow (such as he could, after polio crippled one leg) in the old man's footsteps.

At one point, an odd-looking couple approach Joe and Ratso in a diner and hand Joe a flyer inviting him to a party. They enter into a Warhol-esque party scene (with Warhol superstars Viva, Ultra Violet and others in cameo appearances). The naive Joe smokes most of a joint thinking it's a cigarette, then takes a pill offered to him and begins to hallucinate. He leaves the party with a socialite, who agrees to pay him $20 for spending the night with her. Rizzo falls down a flight of stairs as they are leaving; he insists he is fine. Joe and the socialite attempt to have sex, but he suffers from temporary impotence. They play a game of scribbage together in which Joe reveals his limited academic prowess. She teasingly suggests that Joe may be a homosexual, and that does the trick: he is suddenly able to perform, and the two have lively, aggressive sex. In the morning, the socialite sets up a friend of hers to be Joe's next customer, and it appears his career is on its way.

When Joe returns home later, Rizzo is in bed, sweating and feverish, and admits to Joe that he is unable to walk. Joe wants to take Rizzo to a doctor, but Rizzo adamantly refuses. He wants to leave New York for Miami; this has been his goal the whole time. A frightened Joe is determined to take care of his friend and leaves the apartment to scrounge some money. He picks up an older male customer, but the man tries to send him away at the last minute out of guilt. Joe's desperation boils over when the man gives him a religious medallion instead of cash. He beats and robs the man, stuffing the telephone receiver into his mouth when he thinks the man is calling the hotel front desk for help.

With the money, Joe buys two bus tickets to Florida. During the long journey, Rizzo's already serious physical condition deteriorates further. During a rest stop, Joe touchingly buys bright new clothing for Rizzo and himself. He throws away his cowboy outfit and admits "I ain't no kinda hustler." As they reach Florida and near Miami, Joe talks about plans to get a regular job, only to realize that Rizzo has died in the seat beside him. After Joe informs the bus driver, the driver tells him that there is nothing else to do but continue on to Miami.

The film ends with Joe seated with his arm around his dead friend, numbly staring out the bus window as row after row of palm trees go by.

Well, guess what? Jon Voight is Angelina Jolie's father. That's why u see Angelina is so hot... Coz the father is hot as well. This movie has won the best film in oscar academy awards. And both Dustin and Jon has been nominated as the best actor but did not won.

The whole film is kinda simple but the "gay relationship" is kinda hidden between the 2 guys in this film. Well, i would love to watch more of Jon Voight's movie soon :)

Story:

Muriel is an ugly duckling in her school time, always being treated as an outsider by her friends. Her biggest dream is to get marry. While attending her friend's Tania wedding, she saw the bridegroom and one of her friend, Cheryl have sex in the room.

Muriel met her old time friend Rhonda and Rhonda decided to tell the snobbish Tania that what happen to her husband and Cheryl. Both Muriel and Rhonda decided to move to Sydney and have a good life. But Muriel's father Bill always treat Muriel as a useless bump while himself having an affair and betray his wife Jeanie. Rhonda invited 2 hot American sailors to have sex in her room while Muriel brought a cute guy home. While having fun, Muriel's ridiculous laugh attract the two sailors out, mess happen and Rhonda accidentally fall and broke her own leg.

Rhonda was forced to sit in the wheelchair forever. Muriel went on with her dream. Bill arranged a marriage for Muriel. A political marriage with the country swimmer David, Muriel of course is happy because David is damn hot and sexy. But David did not like Muriel at all because she was fat and ugly.

On an incident of Jeanie, Muriel broke down and cry. David assure her and both of them have sex for the first time. Muriel decided this is not the life she want. Together she push along Rhonda's wheelchair, the two girls went back to Sydney and start their life again.

This CD has been left at a side for quite sometime until i decided to watch it last night. The reason i did not wanna watch is because i'm afraid of that heavy aussie accent. But i was so wrong, the accent is not tat strong actually :)

Toni & Rachel has been nominated for a few several awards after this movie though both of them are still new in this industries, but they are not really that famous now i guess. Coz i only know Nicole Kidman, haha~ Daniel Lapaine is hot i should say, but his acting is kinda bad in this movie.
