Story:

In the old time, 5 children is playing hide & seek at their school near the beach. But Tsunami came on attack. Others 4 children who were hiding ignore the alarm while the one who play seeker ran for his life.

50 years later, a brother & sister came with their mother to the relatives house. They were enjoying their time with the cousins while happily playing at the beach. One of the children discover a bag which is buried in the sand. They dig it out and throw it aside, but the bag gone missing and appear in one of the child's house. The child throw the bag into the sea, but was drag into the sea together. While the little girl and boy were having nightmare on other dead children. The boy was obsessed by the spirit, the girl try to save the boy and met an old man who claimed himself as the owner of a stationery shop.

The old man accompany the girl to look for her brother in the old school. Who knows that the old man is actually the kid who play as seeker 50 years ago? He finally met his old friend and manage to join back his old friends at the incident place. The unhappy feeling has vanished from the children's spirit. They released the little boy and vanished together with the old man.

This is not a bad horror movie, but not good as well. It has some part which i think is quite spooky if you are watching alone in a dark place. But the whole movie is lead by child star, so the way the present is kinda immature (lol, wat am i talking about? they are kids, of coz immature).

I am watching this movie through CD, maybe that's why the movie sounds a bit boring and the graphic is not attracting at all~

Story:

The film is set in early 11th century China during the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty. The emperor neglects state affairs and indulges in personal pleasures, while the government sinks into corruption and war continues to rage on at the borders of the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty is being invaded by the armies of the rival state of Western Xia.

Yang Zongbao is the last man standing in the Yang clan, a family of generals who have dedicated their lives to defending the Song Dynasty from foreign invaders. He dies in battle tragically when the treacherous Imperial Tutor Pang refuses to send reinforcements to aid him. Yang Zongbao's widowed wife Mu Guiying leads the other widows of the Yang clan into battle to continue the legacy of their husbands.

Oh gosh, how should i comment this. Frankie Chan (director) is quite famous in the HK film industry, i was expecting a good action from him... but sadly no... Jackie Chan the producer, did he ever do any QS before they show this film in the big screen?

The cost for this film is quite huge i believe, but the production came out like ATV (亚视)'s quality... Though they gather actors & actresses from China,HK & Taiwan, but due to the bad graphic and dub, the whole movie is spoiled !!!

As for the cast, Cecilia still look stunning after all these while; Kathy Chow is a bit funny in this action kinda film; PeiPei Cheng look even sillier in this character...Overall this film is ok ok only.

Story:

The Heraklion King of Crete, Hyperion, declares war on Olympus after the Gods fail to answer his prayers to save his family from illness, and starts searching for the Epirus Bow, a powerful weapon created by the God of War Ares, which he intends to use to release the Titans from Mount Tartarus and destroy the gods.

Hyperion attacks several holy places in search of the Epirus Bow, and after kidnapping a virgin oracle priestess called Phaedra to help him, advances towards a nearby village, where the young Theseus lives with his mother. Theseus' mother conceived him after being raped, and he is thus considered a bastard and prevented from evacuating the village with its other inhabitants by the soldier Lysander. Theseus defeats him in combat, which he was taught by an old man, and Lysander is discharged by his commanding officer. Infuriated, he offers his services to Hyperion.

The old man is actually Zeus in disguise. He meets with Ares, Poseidon, Athena , Apollo and Heracles, and tells them that they can't directly interfere with the conflict until the Titans are released from Tartarus. Meanwhile, Theseus returns to the village only to discover that Hyperion and his army have already attacked. Hyperion murders Theseus' mother in front of him and sends him to work as a slave in the mines, where Theseus befriends another prisoner, the thief Stavros.

Phaedra has a vision of Theseus fighting Hyperion after accidentally touching him and tells Stavros to make sure Theseus is always by his side. She and the other captured oracles later start a riot, in which she, Theseus, and Stravros escape alongside other slaves. Theseus decides to go after Hyperion and the others follow him. They attack a boat filled with Hyperion's men, but are overpowered. They are however rescued when Poseidon causes a tidal wave which knocks Hyperion's men out. On their way out, Phaedra has a vision that Theseus needs to return to his village and bury his mother, which he does.

In the process, he finds the Epirus Bow, but is attacked by Hyperion's soldier, the Minotaur while the others are attacked by soldiers. The Minotaur was warned of Theseus' presence by Lysander. Theseus finally defeats the Minotaur and rescues his allies using the Epirus Bow, before collapsing due to being poisoned by the Minotaur. Phaedra takes him to her house, where she cures him and they have sex, which causes her to lose her premonitory powers.

The group returns to Phaedra's temple, only to discover that it is filled with Hyperion's soldiers. They capture the group and steal the Epirus Bow, forcing Ares to intervene and save them. Athena comes from Olympus as well. Zeus sees this as treachery, and is ready to kill Athena, but he spares her life. Ares, however, does not back down, and says that he had to do what he did. An infuriated Zeus uses a fire chain to knock Ares into the marble wall to his presumed death. Athena is able to provide horses for the group which they use to ride to Mount Tartarus which is under attack by Hyperion's forces. Hyperion releases the Titans using the Epirus Bow, and they are confronted by the Gods, while Theseus and his allies join forces with the Athenian army present.

Theseus enters the temple and fights Hyperion. He is stabbed multiple times, but is able to kill Hyperion by stabbing him in the neck before dying. Meanwhile, the Gods are overpowered by the Titans, who kill Stavros, Apollo, Athena, Heracles and Poseidon. Before Zeus returns to Mount Olympus with his dead daughter, he collapses the temple upon the Titans, killing them as well as most of Hyperion's forces, while the rest are crushed by the collapsing temple. Two beams are seen ascending to Olympus which are Zeus carrying his daughter and Poseidon. Theseus also ascends to the skies as a beam.

Theseus is welcomed into Mount Olympus by the Gods for his sacrifice, and is awarded with a son from his night with Phaedra. The boy inherits his mother's premonitions and is trained by the old man in mastering them after discovering that, in the future, there will be a war between the Gods and the Titans, with Theseus leading the Gods in battle on Mount Olympus.

L² Comment:

This would be a good movie with a good storyline and good action, if you're just there for the movie. But if you knows a bit of the Greek Myth/Gods, this will be sucks man~ compare to Clash of The Titans, this is so horrible~

But back to the movie, i'm very glad a non-caucasian become the director. Freida Pinto first try to be so sexy, nice... And of course, Henry Cavill is hot as well. Overall this is a quite good if you just enjoy the action & thingy~ :)

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Story:

Tintin, a young journalist, and his dog Snowy, are browsing in an outdoor market in a European town. Tintin buys a model of a three-masted sailing ship, the Unicorn, for a good price, but is then immediately accosted by the sinister Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine, and the mysterious figure of Barnaby, who both try to buy the model from Tintin, without success. Tintin takes the ship home, but it is broken during a fight between Snowy and a neighbour's cat. As it breaks, a parchment scroll slips out of the ship's mast. Snowy spots it but is unable to alert Tintin. Meanwhile, incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson are on the trail of a pickpocket, Aristides Silk. Tintin visits Sakharine in Marlinspike Hall, where he learns that there are at least two model ships.

Later, Tintin is shot at, then abducted by accomplices of Sakharine, and imprisoned on the SS Karaboudjan. On board, Tintin escapes and meets the ship's nominal captain, Haddock. Haddock has been supplied with whisky by first mate Allan, who is working for Sakharine, and the captain is permanently drunk, and doesn't know what's happening on board his ship. Tintin and Haddock (and Snowy) eventually escape from the Karaboudjan in a lifeboat. Sakharine sends a seaplane to find them, but Tintin is able to capture the plane, and fly towards the (fictitious) Moroccan port of Bagghar, but they crash in the desert.

Dehydrated in the heat, and suffering from a sudden lack of alcohol, Haddock hallucinates, and starts to remember stories about his ancestor, Sir Francis Haddock(e), who was captain of the Unicorn during the 17th century. Sir Francis' treasure-laden ship was attacked by a pirate ship, led by the masked Red Rackham, and, after a fierce battle and eventual surrender, Sir Francis chose to sink the Unicorn, and most of the treasure, rather than allow it to fall into Rackham's hands. It transpires that there were three models of the Unicorn, each containing a scroll. Together, the scrolls will reveal the location of the sunken Unicorn, and its treasure.

In Bagghar, Tintin and the Captain find out that the third model ship is in the possession of the wealthy Omar Ben Salaad, but it is encased in a bullet-proof glass display case. Sakharine's plan is to stage a concert involving famous diva Bianca Castafiore, the "Milanese nightingale", whose penetrating singing voice will be able to shatter the glass case, allowing Sakharine's trained hawk to fly down and steal the third scroll. After a chase down to the harbour, pursued by Tintin and Haddock, Sakharine finally escapes with all three scrolls. Tintin chases him back to Europe and arranges a police reception for him on the dockside. Haddock and Sakharine, who is revealed to be the descendant of Red Rackham, replay their ancestors' swashbuckling sword fight, using dockside cranes, and Haddock is eventually victorious.

With the three scrolls in their possession, Tintin and Haddock find that the indicated location is Marlinspike Hall, and that the hall had been built originally by Sir Francis Haddock. There, in the cellar, they find some of the treasure, a clue to the location of the sunken Unicorn, and, perhaps, the excuse for another adventure.

My favorite comic has finally come on the big screen :) Its a mix of 3 stories of Tintin in this film. At first i do not want to know the story before i go for the cinema coz i dont wanna expect too much. But the film never fail me, a production from Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson is absolutely awesome~

An animation you will never wanna miss in your whole life :)

Mothman

Story:

10 years ago, few teenagers went swimming but tragedy happened. Jamie was fooled by them and drown in the lake. To prevent from getting arrested, each of them use a rock to smash Jamie's head and claimed to police that Jamie knocked his own head when he dive into the water.

Katherine who did not wanted to do it at first but later on go along with the rest. She left to big city to work as a reporter. Due to work, Katherine was sent back to do an interview regarding the mothman. Beside Derek (Katherine's high school's date), the rest don't really seems to welcome her back. On a night, Jared was attacked by the mothman at his silver car and died.

Later on in a bar, Richard was killed by mothman which appeared through mirror. The mothman later on try to attack Sally, but she ran to her car and drove off. On the highway, mothman appeared in the windshield screen and slash Sally alive. Katherine went to seek advice from Frank, an old blind guy while at the same time the mothman attacked Mindy in her saloon.

Frank told Katherine that the rest of them has to use knifes to cut their chest and use the blood to drop on the dust which mothman stay. Katherine, Derek & Casey did that but still failed. Mothman climb out to attack and get Casey. Katherine & Derek went back to Frank, but Frank locked them up in a cell and went to the town by himself. Mothman attack Katherine & Derek in the cell, but they were save by Casey who they thought he has died.

3 of them went to the town and realize mothman is attacking the city, it has killed a lot of people including Frank. Casey also being stab to death after saving Katherine. Katherine used the knife with blood (Blood of Katherine, Derek & Casey) to stab the mothman and vanished it. The mothman disapeared and become multiple of moth and flew away. Derek was sent to hospital, Katherine went to visit.

Derek shout crazily when he found that Katherine's eye become red and involved into the mothman.

The beginning of the movie is quite good, but as it goes along, i found that the storyline is kinda boring. Not that the actors & actresses are bad, but the story is really predictable and kinda laggy. Though this is based on a real legendary creature, but please... make it more interesting next time.... :P

Story:

A family descends into a vortex of denial and paranoia after the death of the oldest son. Though labeled a suicide, the bizarre circumstances lead the mother, Helen, to believe there are darker forces at work. Black paint was thrown over everything reflective in the son's decrepit Victorian house, an explosive trap set in his bedroom and a woman from his past haunts the cemetery where he lies buried. But when Helen's investigation threatens to ruin the life of her teenage daughter, Kate, and possibly her own sanity, she realizes there is but one escape from this nightmare world - the very route attempted by her dead son. Finale captures mystery, horror and suspense in the colorful visual style of the 1970's Italian gialli.

The director film this movie after his own brother hang himself and his mother retreated into grief-stricken denial and paranoia, blaming his death on the planned sacrifice of a demonic cult. Though they have financial problem when filming this movie, and it suppose to be very touching story for the scene behind. But YAWN~

All i can say is... this is not a good movie at all. 1.5 is for the strong belief that the director has for himself~
