 Story:

A young woman named Chrissie Watkins leaves an evening beach party on Amity Island to go skinny dipping, only to be dragged back and forth and then pulled under the water by an unseen force. Amity's police chief, Martin Brody, is notified that Chrissie is missing, and Deputy Hendricks finds her remains on the beach. The medical examiner informs Brody that she was killed by a shark. Brody plans to close the beaches but is overruled by Mayor Larry Vaughn, who fears that reports of a shark attack will ruin the summer tourist season, the town's primary source of income and notes that the town has never had shark problems. The medical examiner consequently attributes the death to a boating accident. Brody reluctantly goes along with the explanation.

A short time later, a boy named Alex Kintner is killed by a shark at the beach. The boy's mother places a bounty on the shark, sparking an amateur shark-hunting frenzy and prompting local professional shark hunter Quint to offer his services for an even higher fee. Marine biologist Matt Hooper examines Chrissie's remains and determines that she was unquestionably killed by a shark.

A large tiger shark is caught by fishermen, leading the townspeople to believe the problem is solved, but Hooper is unconvinced and asks to examine its stomach contents. Vaughn refuses to make the autopsy public, so Brody and Hooper return after dark and discover the dead shark does not contain human remains. They come across the half-sunken wreckage of a boat belonging to local fisherman Ben Gardner. Hooper explores the vessel underwater and discovers a sizable great white shark's tooth protruding from the damaged hull before he is startled by Gardner's remains and drops the tooth. Brody and Hooper tell Vaughn that a monstrous great white shark is the real culprit responsible for the attacks, but due to lack of evidence, Vaughn does not believe them and refuses to close the beaches. He does allow them to make the beaches safer for everyone, and on the Fourth of July many tourists arrive. A practical joke by kids causes panic at the main beach while the shark enters a nearby estuary, killing a man; Brody's son Michael, who witnesses the attack, goes into shock. Brody persuades Vaughn to hire Quint, who reluctantly allows Hooper to join the hunt along with Brody. The three set out to catch and kill the shark aboard Quint's vessel, the Orca.

Brody is given the task of laying a chum line while Quint uses fishing tackle to try to hook the shark, which, without warning, appears behind the boat and begins circling it. Quint harpoons it with a line attached to a flotation barrel, but the shark pulls the barrel under and disappears.

By nightfall, the men retire to the boat's cabin, where Quint relates his experience with sharks as a survivor of the sinking of the warship USS Indianapolis during the War in the Pacific in 1945. The shark reappears, damaging the boat's hull before slipping away. In the morning, Brody attempts to call the Coast Guard, but Quint destroys the radio. After a long chase, Quint harpoons another barrel to the shark. The men tie it to the stern, but the shark drags the boat backward, forcing water onto the deck and flooding the engine. Quint heads toward shore, hoping to draw his quarry into shallow waters and suffocate it, but overtaxes and stalls the Orca‍ '​s damaged engines.

With the boat immobilized, the trio attempt a desperate approach: Hooper dons scuba gear and enters the ocean inside a shark proof cage, attempting to stab the shark with a hypodermic spear filled with strychnine. However, the shark takes him by surprise, and Hooper drops his spear but escapes and hide on the seabed. As Quint and Brody raise the mangled cage, the shark leaps onto the boat, crushing the transom. Quint slips down the deck into the shark's mouth and is devoured. When the shark attacks Brody, he shoves a pressurized scuba tank into its mouth, then takes Quint's rifle and climbs the sinking Orca‍ '​s mast. Brody shoots at the scuba tank, the resulting explosion obliterates the shark, and it sinks to the ocean floor. Hooper emerges, and the two make rafts out of the remains of the Orca to paddle back to the shores of Amity Island.

The classic first movie of Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg based on Peter Benchley's same name novel which make a great hit in the blockbuster that time, It was scary when I watch it during my childhood, but rewatching it now, i feel like a lot of the scenes are not really necessary in this movie which has drag the movie for  2 hours & 35min... Those parts were boring but luckily when the shark attack, it manage to raise back the score bar inside my heart hehe~

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

 Story:

In 1935, Indiana Jones (or Indy) narrowly escapes the clutches of Lao Che, a crime boss in Shanghai. With his eleven-year old Chinese sidekick, Short Round (or Shorty), and the nightclub singer Willie Scott in tow, Indiana flees Shanghai on an airplane that, unknown to them, is owned by Lao. The pilots leave the plane to crash over the Himalayas, but the trio narrowly manage to escape on an inflatable boat and ride down the slopes into a raging river. They come to Mayapore, a desolate village in northern India, where the poor villagers believe them to have been sent by the Hindu god Shiva and enlist their help to retrieve the sacred Sivalinga stone stolen from their shrine, as well as the community's children, from evil forces in the nearby Pankot Palace. During the journey to Pankot, Indy hypothesizes that the stone may be one of the five fabled Sankara stones that promise fortune and glory.

The trio receive a warm welcome from the residents of Pankot Palace (which includes the young Maharajah Zalim Singh and his representative, Pankot Palace Prime Minister Chattar Lal) and are allowed to stay the night as their guests, during which they attend a lavish banquet attended by the Maharajah. The palace rebuffs Indy's questions about the villagers' claims and his theory that the ancient Thuggee cult is responsible for their troubles. Later that night, Indy is attacked by an assassin, leading Indy, Willie, and Shorty to believe that something is amiss. They discover a series of tunnels hidden behind a statue in Willie's room and set out to explore them, overcoming a number of booby-trapped rooms along the way.

The trio eventually reach an underground temple where the Thuggee worship the Hindu goddess Kali with human sacrifice. They discover that the Thuggee, led by their evil, bloodthirsty high priest Mola Ram, are in possession of three of the five Sankara stones, and have enslaved the children (as well as the Maharajah) to mine for the final two stones, which they hope will allow them to rule the world. As Indy tries to retrieve the stones, he, Willie, and Shorty are captured and separated. Indy is whipped and forced to drink a potion called the "Blood of Kali", which places him in a trance-like state called the "Black Sleep of Kali Ma". As a result, he begins to mindlessly serve Mola. Willie, meanwhile, is kept as a human sacrifice, while Shorty is put in the mines to labour alongside the enslaved children. Shorty breaks free and escapes back into the temple where he burns Indy with a torch, shocking him out of the trance. The Maharajah, who was also forcibly entranced by the "Blood of Kali", attempts to sabotage Indy with a voodoo doll. Shorty spars with the Maharajah, ultimately burning him to snap him out of the trance. The Maharajah then tells Short Round how to get out of the mines. While Mola escapes, Indy and Shorty rescue Willie, retrieve the three Sankara stones, and free the village children.

After a mine cart chase to escape the temple, the trio emerge above ground and are again cornered by Mola and his henchmen on a jungle canyon rope bridge on both ends over a gorge with a crocodile-infested river flowing within. Using a sword stolen from one of the Thuggee warriors, Indy cuts the rope bridge in half, leaving everyone to hang on for their lives. Indy utters an incantation which causes the stones to glow red hot. Two of the stones fall into the river, while the last falls into and burns Mola's hand. Indy catches the now-cool stone, while Mola falls into the river below, where he is devoured by crocodiles. The Thuggee across then attempt to shoot Indiana with arrows, until a company of British Indian Army riflemen from Pankot arrive, having been summoned by the palace maharajah. In the ensuing firefight, many of the Thuggee archers are killed and the remainder are surrounded and captured. Indy, Willie, and Shorty return victoriously to the village with the children and give the missing stone to the villagers.

L² Comment:

 This is my most favorite Indiana Jones movies ever~ I used to watched this over and over a lot of times when I was a young boy. I even imagine i'm Shorty and having all the adventure with Indiana Jones :) hehe. Overall the story is good, better than the first movie, i love the way they film this film in Asia (Sri Lanka & India), and it makes the whole movie even better :P

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

 Story:

In 1936, archaeologist Indiana Jones (or Indy for short, usually by his friends), braves an ancient temple in an unnamed South American location. The temple is filled with booby traps and Indy is trying to retrieve a golden idol. Upon fleeing the temple, Indy is confronted by rival archaeologist René Belloq and the indigenous Hovitos. Surrounded and outnumbered, Indy is forced to surrender the idol to Belloq and subsequently escapes aboard a waiting Waco seaplane after being pursued.

Shortly after returning to the college in the United States where he teaches archaeology, Indy is interviewed by two Army intelligence agents. They inform him that the Nazis, in their quest for occult power, are searching for his old mentor, Abner Ravenwood, who is the leading expert on the ancient Egyptian city of Tanis and possesses the headpiece of an artifact called the Staff of Ra. Indy deduces that the Nazis are searching for Tanis because it is believed to be the location of the Ark of the Covenant; the Nazis believe that if they acquire it, their armies will become invincible. The Staff of Ra, meanwhile, is the key to finding the Well of Souls, a secret chamber in which the Ark is buried.

The agents subsequently authorize Indy to recover the Ark before the Nazis. Indy travels to Nepal, only to find that Ravenwood has died and that the headpiece is in the possession of his daughter, Marion, who is also Indy's embittered former lover. Indy offers to buy the headpiece for $3000, plus $2000 more when they return to the United States. Marion's tavern is suddenly raided by a group of thugs commanded by Nazi agent Toht. The tavern is burned down in the ensuing fight, during which Toht burns his hand on the searing hot headpiece as he tries to grab it. Indy and Marion escape with the headpiece, with Marion declaring she will accompany Indy in his search for the Ark so he can repay his debt.

They travel to Cairo where they learn from Indy's friend Sallah, a skilled excavator, that Belloq and the Nazis, led by Colonel Dietrich, are currently digging for the Well of Souls with a replica of the headpiece modeled after the scar on Toht's hand. In a bazaar, Nazi operatives attempt to kidnap Marion and as Indy chases after them it appears that she dies in an explosion. While deciphering the markings on the headpiece, Indy and Sallah realize that the Nazis have miscalculated the location of the Well of Souls. Using this to their advantage, they infiltrate the Nazi dig and use the Staff of Ra to determine the location correctly and uncover the Well of Souls, which is filled with snakes. Indy fends off the snakes and acquires the Ark, but Belloq, Dietrich, and the Nazis arrive to take it. They toss Marion into the well with Indy and seal them in, but they manage to escape. After a fistfight with a Nazi mechanic, blowing up a flying wing on the airstrip, and chasing down a convoy of trucks, Indy takes back the Ark before it can be shipped to Berlin.

Indy and Marion leave Cairo to escort the Ark to England on board a tramp steamer. The next morning, their boat is boarded by Belloq, Dietrich, and the Nazis, who once again steal the Ark and kidnap Marion. Indy stows away on their U-boat and follows them to an isolated island in the Aegean Sea where Belloq plans to test the power of the Ark before presenting it to Hitler. Indy reveals himself and threatens to destroy the Ark with a bazooka, but Belloq calls his bluff, knowing Indy cannot bear to destroy such an important historical artifact.

Indy surrenders and is tied to a post with Marion as Belloq performs a ceremonial opening of the Ark, which appears to contain nothing but sand. Suddenly, spirits resembling Old Testament Seraphim emerge from the Ark. Aware of the supernatural danger of looking at the opened Ark, Indy warns Marion to close her eyes. Meanwhile, the apparitions suddenly morph into "angels of death", and all of the Nazi soldiers, along with Belloq, are gruesomely killed.

Back in Washington, D.C., the Army intelligence agents tell a suspicious Indy and Brody that the Ark "is someplace safe" to be studied by "top men". The Ark is permanently stored in a giant government warehouse amongst countless similar crates.

L² Comment:

Though this is not my most fav indiana jones' movie, but i kinda like it too. Harrison Ford is always my childhood hero which i think he is good in all the adventurous thing and he never dies :P Love the way he can control his whip like his hand's extension, which is kinda cool for me. The storyline is acceptable but just one thing i can't accept... The Nepal city looks fake!

War Horse

 Story:

 In Devon, England, a boy named Albert Narracott watches the birth of a thoroughbred foal and watches with admiration the growth of the young horse, galloping through the fields at his mother's side. Much to the dismay of his mother, Rose, his father, Ted, buys the colt at auction, despite a friend pointing out a more suitable plough horse for his farm. The desire to spite his landlord, Lyons, and retain his pride, are the apparent motivations for Ted to make higher and higher bids for the colt. The high cost of the horse (30 guineas) means he is unable to pay rent to Lyons, who threatens to take possession of the farm if the money is not paid by the autumn. Ted promises to meet the deadline, suggesting he could plough and plant a lower, rock-filled field with turnips. Albert names the horse Joey and devotes much time to training him. Albert's best friend, Andrew Easton, watches as Albert teaches his colt many things, such as to come when he imitates the call of an owl by blowing through his cupped hands.

Ted, who has a bad leg from a war injury, is frequently shown drinking alcohol from a flask he carries. Rose shows Albert his father's medals from the Second Boer War in South Africa, where Ted served as a sergeant with the Imperial Yeomanry. Ted was severely wounded in action, and received the Distinguished Conduct Medal for bravery under fire. She gives Albert his father's regimental pennant, telling Albert that his father is not proud of what he did during the war, and that he had thrown the flag and medals away, though Rose saved and kept them hidden.

Albert trains Joey for the plough and, to his neighbours' astonishment, prepares a stony hillside field to plant with turnips. However a rainstorm destroys the turnip field, so to pay the overdue rent (and without telling Albert), Ted sells Joey to Captain Nicholls, a young cavalry officer, as World War I breaks out. When Albert finds out, he confronts the officer and begs for him not to take the horse. Nicholls promises he will take care of Joey as his own horse and hopefully will return him after the war. Albert tries to enlist in the army, but is too young. Before the captain leaves with Joey, Albert ties his father's pennant to Joey's bridle.

Joey is trained for military operations and deployed to France with a flying column under the command of Captain Nicholls. Cavalry charges, once a major form of warfare, are now hopelessly obsolete when faced with machine guns, as Captain Nicholls and his fellow cavalrymen discover after they charge through a German encampment. Nicholls is killed along with most of his fellow cavalrymen, and the Germans capture the horses.

Joey becomes attached to Topthorn, a black horse with whom he trained for his military role. The two horses are used to pull an ambulance wagon driven by two German soldiers, Gunther, and his 14-year-old brother, Michael. Gunther gives the pennant to Michael as a good-luck "charm" when he is assigned to the German front, despite being too young to fight. Gunther ignores an order to remain behind and await call to a later position. Unable to persuade his brother to remain behind, Gunther rides Joey and brings Topthorn along on his escape so he and his brother can ride them to Italy, at this time still neutral. One night, German soldiers discover the absent without leave brothers hiding in a windmill and execute them by firing squad for desertion.

After the two young Germans are shot, Emilie, a young French girl who lives at the farm with her grandfather, finds the two horses inside the windmill. Emilie suffers from Osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), and is not allowed to ride the horses for fear of falling. Later, German soldiers arrive and confiscate all food and supplies from the property; Emilie hides the horses in her bedroom to avoid them being taken by the Germans to fight. Emilie's grandfather allows her to ride Joey on her birthday, and she gallops the horse up a hill, adjacent to the farm. When Emilie does not come back immediately, the Grandfather worriedly runs up the hill. On the other side of the hill, the Grandfather discovers that Emilie has run into the grasp of the German soldiers who were at the farm earlier. The German soldiers take the horses, but the grandfather keeps the pennant.

Joey and Topthorn are put to the task of pulling German heavy artillery, an exhausting task which kills horses quickly. The two horses are, however, put in the care of the German Private Friedrich who loves horses and who tries to help them survive.

The story moves forward to 1918, where Albert has enlisted and is fighting alongside Andrew in the Second Battle of the Somme, under the command of Lyons's son, David. After a British charge into no-man's land, Albert, Andrew, and other British soldiers miraculously make it across into a deserted German trench, where a gas bomb explodes, filling the trench with the white chemical fumes of mustard gas.

Meanwhile, Joey and Topthorn have survived years of hard service in the German army – much longer than most horses last – but Topthorn finally succumbs and dies from exhaustion, while Joey and Private Friedrich comfort him, pleading with him to not lie down where he will be seen and subsequently shot, until Friedrich is ultimately dragged away from Joey by other German soldiers. Cornered by an advancing tank, Joey escapes and runs into no-man's land where he gallops through the devastating destruction of the Somme and gets entangled in barbed wire. From their respective trenches both British and German soldiers spot Joey in the mist, although disbelieving at first that a horse could have survived the battle. Colin, a British soldier from South Shields, waving a white flag, crosses No Man's Land at Joey's side to try and coax him to the British side. Peter, a German soldier from Düsseldorf, comes over with wire cutters, and together they free Joey from the barbed wire. They flip a coin to decide who should take possession of the horse; Colin wins, guiding Joey back to the British trench, having formed a strange friendship with the soldier from Düsseldorf, on the enemy side he has been instructed to kill.

The film shifts back to Albert's perspective, where Andrew has succumbed to the gas attack, but Albert has survived, temporarily blinded with bandages covering his eyes. He is recuperating at a British medical camp when Colin brings Joey in looking for a veterinary surgeon to heal the wounds from the barbed wire. Albert is told about the miracle horse rescued from no-man's land. The army doctor instructs Sgt. Fry to put Joey down due to his injuries, but when Fry is about to shoot, the owl call he learned from Albert as a colt catches Joey's attention. Albert is led through the troops to Joey, again sounding his call, and Joey hurries to meet his long-lost friend. Albert explains he raised Joey, and his bandages still covering his eyes, gives an exact description of his horse's markings, confirming his claim. Joey is covered in mud, so the veterinary surgeon refuses to accept Albert's statement, but is quickly corrected when soldiers wash away the grime, revealing the four white socks and diamond blaze on Joey's forehead.

Armistice brings the end of the war and Albert's eyesight is restored. He learns only officers' horses will be shipped home, while Joey and the others are to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The soldiers gather funds to help Albert buy Joey, but during a bidding war with a French butcher reaching 30 pounds, a bid of 100 pounds is entered without revealing who placed the bid. Approaching the auction ring is an older gentleman, Emilie's grandfather. No other bid is placed and he is shown taking ownership of Joey. The grandfather implies that Emilie has died, and after hearing about the miracle horse, her grandfather walked three days to get Joey back for the sake of Emilie's memory.

Albert pleads with Emilie's grandfather for the horse, but the old man remains stoic in his auction win. As the grandfather walks away, Joey breaks free and goes to Albert. As he watches the horse and the young English soldier, the grandfather pulls the military pennant from his pocket and asks Albert if it means anything to him. When Albert tells the old man that it belongs to his father, the grandfather has a change of heart. First he gives Albert the campaign pennant, then moments later, gives him Joey, saying it is what Emilie would have wanted. In the end Albert rides Joey back to his family's farm, hugs his parents, and returns the pennant to his father.

Multiple nomination film and it did won some best film & best cinemotography award, a movie based on a children's novel by Michael Morpurgo. This film is quite nice, i love the way how the story is sectioned, but in the end, the horse return back to his first owner's Albert. A very touching movie and i actually feel that the horse can act :P

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Story:

Tintin, a young journalist, and his dog Snowy, are browsing in an outdoor market in a European town. Tintin buys a model of a three-masted sailing ship, the Unicorn, for a good price, but is then immediately accosted by the sinister Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine, and the mysterious figure of Barnaby, who both try to buy the model from Tintin, without success. Tintin takes the ship home, but it is broken during a fight between Snowy and a neighbour's cat. As it breaks, a parchment scroll slips out of the ship's mast. Snowy spots it but is unable to alert Tintin. Meanwhile, incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson are on the trail of a pickpocket, Aristides Silk. Tintin visits Sakharine in Marlinspike Hall, where he learns that there are at least two model ships.

Later, Tintin is shot at, then abducted by accomplices of Sakharine, and imprisoned on the SS Karaboudjan. On board, Tintin escapes and meets the ship's nominal captain, Haddock. Haddock has been supplied with whisky by first mate Allan, who is working for Sakharine, and the captain is permanently drunk, and doesn't know what's happening on board his ship. Tintin and Haddock (and Snowy) eventually escape from the Karaboudjan in a lifeboat. Sakharine sends a seaplane to find them, but Tintin is able to capture the plane, and fly towards the (fictitious) Moroccan port of Bagghar, but they crash in the desert.

Dehydrated in the heat, and suffering from a sudden lack of alcohol, Haddock hallucinates, and starts to remember stories about his ancestor, Sir Francis Haddock(e), who was captain of the Unicorn during the 17th century. Sir Francis' treasure-laden ship was attacked by a pirate ship, led by the masked Red Rackham, and, after a fierce battle and eventual surrender, Sir Francis chose to sink the Unicorn, and most of the treasure, rather than allow it to fall into Rackham's hands. It transpires that there were three models of the Unicorn, each containing a scroll. Together, the scrolls will reveal the location of the sunken Unicorn, and its treasure.

In Bagghar, Tintin and the Captain find out that the third model ship is in the possession of the wealthy Omar Ben Salaad, but it is encased in a bullet-proof glass display case. Sakharine's plan is to stage a concert involving famous diva Bianca Castafiore, the "Milanese nightingale", whose penetrating singing voice will be able to shatter the glass case, allowing Sakharine's trained hawk to fly down and steal the third scroll. After a chase down to the harbour, pursued by Tintin and Haddock, Sakharine finally escapes with all three scrolls. Tintin chases him back to Europe and arranges a police reception for him on the dockside. Haddock and Sakharine, who is revealed to be the descendant of Red Rackham, replay their ancestors' swashbuckling sword fight, using dockside cranes, and Haddock is eventually victorious.

With the three scrolls in their possession, Tintin and Haddock find that the indicated location is Marlinspike Hall, and that the hall had been built originally by Sir Francis Haddock. There, in the cellar, they find some of the treasure, a clue to the location of the sunken Unicorn, and, perhaps, the excuse for another adventure.

My favorite comic has finally come on the big screen :) Its a mix of 3 stories of Tintin in this film. At first i do not want to know the story before i go for the cinema coz i dont wanna expect too much. But the film never fail me, a production from Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson is absolutely awesome~

An animation you will never wanna miss in your whole life :)

The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Story:

Four years after the incident at Jurassic Park, John Hammond has lost control of InGen to his nephew, Peter Ludlow. Ian Malcolm violated his non-disclosure agreement and went public about the events, but few believed him and threats of legal action prevented him from producing any evidence, leaving his academic reputation destroyed. One day, Hammond summons Malcolm to his home and tells him about "Site B," located on Isla Sorna, where the dinosaurs were actually engineered, before being sent to Isla Nublar when mature. The island was abandoned after a hurricane wiped out most of the facilities, and the creatures were left there to live wild. Hammond asks Malcolm to help him stop Ludlow from using Site B to bail out the bankrupt InGen, and to help him convince environmentalists to leave the island as a nature preserve. Malcolm initially refuses, but agrees to go after learning that his girlfriend, paleontologist Sarah Harding is already there.

Malcolm is joined by Eddie Carr, an engineer who built the group's custom vehicles, and Nick Van Owen, documentary producer and environmentalist. Shortly after arriving on the island, they encounter a Stegosaurus herd and meet Sarah. When they return to camp, they find Kelly, Malcolm's daughter, was accidentally locked in one of the vehicles while visiting him before departure and looking around. Malcolm tries to contact the boat to take them home, but they are interrupted by the arrival of an InGen team sent by and joined by Ludlow. The rival team quickly captures samples of several species, including Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus, Gallimimus, Pachycephalosaurus, Triceratops, and a swarm of Compsognathus, pointed out by paleontologist, Dr. Robert Burke. That night, Nick and Sarah sneak into the InGen camp to free the dinosaurs and cut the fuel lines on the vehicles. The freed dinosaurs cause a huge commotion as they escape, compounded by the exploding vehicles. Roland Tembo the leader of the InGen team, admonishes his second-in-command, Dieter Stark, for the lack of security.

Roland wishes to capture an adult male Tyrannosaurus, and creates a trap by breaking the leg of a baby T. rex so that its cries might lure its parents. When he returns to the camp, Nick frees the baby, taking it back to their trailer so Sarah can set its broken leg. The adult Tyrannosaurs come searching for their child and, after retrieving it, throws one half of the hinged trailer over a cliff with Malcolm, Nick, and Sarah inside. Eddie throws down a rope and tries to pull the trailer back up using one of the SUVs, but his SUV is attacked by the Tyrannosaurs. Eddie is torn in half and eaten. The trailer falls off the cliff, but its occupants survive by holding on to the rope, only to be rescued by Roland and the InGen team. With all of the communications equipment destroyed in the attacks, both groups team up to reach the old InGen compound's radio station, right through a Velociraptor nesting site. During the walk to the station Stark is killed by a pack of Compsognathus.

At night, the male Tyrannosaurus comes across the group's camp and pokes his head into Sarah and Kelly's tent, sniffing Sarah's jacket covered with blood from the baby's leg. One of the InGen team workers notices this and screams, waking up the rest of the group as they all begin to run, with the female Tyrannosaurus in pursuit. Dr. Burke is eaten, while hiding behind a waterfall, by the female Tyrannosaurus. After initially failing to kill the male Tyrannosaur (mainly because Nick stole the bullets from his gun), Roland uses a tranquilizer gun to knock the dinosaur out. After fleeing from the female Tyrannosaur, the InGen team passes through a field of tall grass and are picked off one-by-one by Velociraptors. Malcolm, Sarah, Nick, and Kelly pass through the field unharmed and Nick reaches the compound, but the others are attacked by three raptors and go into hiding. After a fight with the raptors, Ian, Sarah, and Kelly run towards a building where they reunite with Nick and contact a rescue helicopter. As they fly away, they see that Roland has caged the male Tyrannosaur and Ludlow preparing to ship it and the baby back to the mainland. However, Roland is depressed over Ajay's death (from the raptors) and resigns his post in InGen, declaring to Ludlow "I think I've spent enough time in the company of death." He then walks away towards a helicopter.

When the ship carrying the dinosaur arrives in San Diego, it crashes into the dock. A boarding party finds out the entire crew is dead. While searching for survivors, a guard opens the cargo hold and inadvertently releases the Tyrannosaur, which escapes into the city. Malcolm and Sarah learn that the Tyrannosaur stopped breathing due to a tranquilizer overdose, it was given amphetamines to bring it around, but not knowing the proper dosage, they administered too much and the dinosaur is out of control. Realizing that the Tyrannosaur will likely come for its infant, Malcolm and Sarah rush to the Jurassic Park amphitheater(which was Hammond's original idea before he decided to locate the park on an island) to get the baby T. rex, which had been brought in separately by plane, and during this time, the T. rex is wreaking havoc in San Diego, having eaten a fleeing civilian and a dog. They lure the adult with the baby and run back to the boat. Ludlow tries to intervene, but is trapped in the cargo hold, injured by the adult, and devoured by the baby. Malcolm and Sarah manage to tranquilize the adult before it can escape again, and seal it in the hold.

By morning, as Malcolm and Sarah fall asleep on the couch in their living room, Kelly watches television reports of the cargo ship on its way back to Site B, surrounded by a convoy of naval vessels. The program breaks away to an interview of restored InGen Chairman John Hammond, who explains that the island will now be left alone as a natural reserve so the dinosaurs can live free of human interference. He offers a quote by Malcolm, "Life will find a way." The scene cuts to Site B, where the family of Tyrannosaurs is shown reunited in the wild, alongside a herd of Stegosaurus migrating and a flock of Pteranodons flying overhead.

L² Comment:

Not being fussy or what, but i really dont think this sequel is better than the 1st movie. Without Sam Neil, the whole movie seems lost (maybe it wanna suit the name of The Lost World? lol). For me, Jeff Goldblum is not really a good actor i must say. He seems to have the same expression through out the whole film. And Moore is kinda fat and clumsy in this movie.

Overall, the one thing that i like is the small dinos which came out in a swamp to attack. Nice :)

War of the Worlds

Story:

Ray has divorce with his wife, and went to take care of his two children Robbie & Rachel while the ex wife and her new husband went to Boston. While Ray sleeps, Robbie went away with his car without Ray's permission. Ray woke up and went looking for Robbie and discover a weird tornado.

The tornado was flashing out weird lightning non-stop and cause the surrounding areas' electric item not functioning. Just as Ray pass by a car workshop, he advice the mechanic to install solenoid on a car if electric item is not functioning. The road starts to cracked and big machine known as tripod jump out and shot ray on to human beings and cause them to die.

Ray found Robbie, and together with Rachel, they went for the solenoid car and drive all their way to Boston. On their journey, they met others human being who grabbed their car away. Robbie was stunt by the armies of defeating the aliens tripod, he insisted to join the force in defeating no matter how Ray stop him. Ray and Rachel hide in a basement and saw the real alien coming down for attack, but luckily they were not discovered. Eventually, tripod is using human's blood for harvesting. The aliens came for search again, Rachel scream and flee but was caught again.

Ray went over and was caught together as prisoner. But Ray got the grenades and plug it in the tripod when the tripod swallow him. But others managed to pull him off. The grenades exploded and everyone is free and escape. The next day they saw the tripod is weird, the armies then shot it down with machine gun.

Finally Ray managed to send Rachel back to Boston and saw Robbie is safe.

Though Steven Speilberg always bring us good film, but this is not really the film that i wanted to re-watch. There's 2 things i hate about this film - (1) Dakota's annoying screaming (2) Justin's irrational way of running away from the father.

And finally the alien was killed by grenades? huh? i just...ok watever... this is just from an old novel of H.G.Wells in 1898, what can we expect, right?

Story:

Alan Grant & Ellie Sattler spend all their time digging for dinosaurs' sculpture and bones to understand more about them. But one day, the 2 doctors received an invitation from the famous John Hammond to Costa Rica for a marvelous discover.

During their journey over the exile island, they were joined by Ian Malcolm, a rock-&-roll professor & John's niece Alexis "lex" & the nephew Tim. Tim was Alan's huge fans and followed him around everywhere. Everybody was brought into the lab and shown how the lab produce the extinct dinosaurs. The specialists found the sculpture of the ancient mosquitoes which were stuck in the frozen lava. Inside the mosquitoes, there were blood of dinosaurs. By using those blood, specialists can trace back the DNA and process it with one species of frog from South America. The specialists claimed that all dinos were female by controlling their DNA. But Ian said that the frog species can turn their gene when there's only one sex exist in the pond.

A fat worker was receiving under table money to steal the embryoes of the dinos to sell out for outsider. Despite of his greediness, he shut down all the electrical in the jurassic park. This has cause the tour-cars that the guesses were in stop in front of the reptiles. The t-rex came out and attack them. The cars were smash down the hill with Alan, Tim & Lex inside while Ian was knock unconcious aside. In the meanwhile, John was freak off by the sudden malfunction of the electricity supply. Ellie decided to went for the genator to start the electric and they make it.

While relaxing after the hectic moment, the Murphy's sibblings were happily munching foods in the cafeteria and discover 2 small dinos are in. They quickly sneak into the kitchen for hide and luckily to escaped. The kids later on met up with Ellie & Alan and they went back to solve the puzzle and send everything back to function normal. But the electrical fence has been spoiled by the dinos before and the place is not safe anymore.

Together with John and others doctors, all of them flew away safely from jurassic park with the personal helicopter of John.

This is the ever 1st movie i watched with my family !!! I was 11yo by that time and we got the movie ticket on the 1st day~ geng leh :) Luckily we do so, coz i remember on the next few days, the cinema won't allow kids under 18yo to enter anymore :P

Well, 1st time when i saw this huge blockbuster in the cinema, i was speechless and held my daddy's hand when i see the dinos. Sis and I screamed like a freak bitch gaga :P It was a good time back then. After 17 years and re-watch, i still feel very excited when it come to the scene of 2 kids in the kitchen trying to hide away from the dinos~ Steven Spielberg never fails us :)

But if you look at the actors, i see familiar face. Samuel L Jackson, he was taking this small roles at that time with a big spec ~ hahaha. I can still remember Sam Neil, but others, i don't find them in any film~
