 Story:

Sheng lost his wife alone to raise three daughters Dong, Nam , Sai and Bak. One day Sheng told his 3 daughters that he has cancer, the only wish is his three daughters to find boyfriends and able to live happily and get married. Dong found Cheah, a gigolo to be her boyfriend; Nam found Ying, a bad guy who's trying to kill Dong; Sai found Gou, a 27 years old virgin rich guy. Just as three of them thought this is just a show to please their father, but things go wrong and they slowly falling in love with each other instead...

Lol, a funny comedy movie again which is the opposite of "The Romancing Stars"... This time is a female version with 3 famous actresses during that time to be in the lead role whom are Bridget, Maggie & Chingmy. Jimmy Lin is lucky to be the 3 pretty ladies' younger brother instead. Of course there's some part which skip the story a lot, maybe it might be the director's cut, so the whole movie seems like a bit fast forward instead. However, each pair of couples got their main role and stories in here including Richard Ng + Sandra Ng...

 Story: 

In the year 2043, an evil crime lord (The General/M. Bison) is trying to take over the world. He was arrested and was sentenced to jail by the Judge. The General's minions, Kent (Ken), Thai King (Sagat), and Toyota (E. Honda) travel to the year 1993 to kill the Judge before he has a chance to get into office. During a battle with The General's minions, the Future Cops Lung (Ryu), Broom Man (Guile), Ti Man (Vega), and Ah-Sing (Dhalsim) hear of their plot. The Police Director decided to send them back to the past also to protect the Judge. Lung ultimately stays behind because he is the Police Director's brother in law.

Once the Future Cops get to 1993, they land in the backyard of 20 something year old high school student Tai-Hung, who helps them stay under cover by letting them live with him and his family. Ti Man pretends to be a fellow student while striking up a romance with Tai Hung's sister Chun May (Chun Li); Broom Man pretends to be a music teacher at the school while also striking up a romance with one of the students, Crab Angel; while Ah-Sing follows Tai Hung pretending to be his servant, all the while protecting him from the evil school bullies, while Tai Hung pursues a romance of his own with his long-time friend Choi Ney. Eventually the villains show up, wreak havoc, and many battles ensue. Tai-Hung ends up being the Judge after his mother remarried and his surname changed.

Street Fighter is the hit game that we play in the 90s, who doesn't know street fighter will have to be slaughter lol~ This is one of my favorite movie even though the characters were dressed differently lol~ Storyline of course is funny (and rubbish), but who cares, the most important is, only Wang Jing can gather so many superstars to  film this during the 90s and this has definitely become one of the classic film for the Hong Kong blockbuster :)

 Story:

Macy is waiting for her fiancee Takashi to attend their wedding in LA, but he did not appear. Macy went back to Hong Kong and met with Yong, who is a body guard of her father (to pretend as interior designer), and together they depart to Tokyo to look for Takashi.

At Tokyo, interpol officer Ren is looking for Takashi as well. He pretends as a private inspector to get near Macy for more information. 3 of them was hunted by the gangster Ito. On a boat fight, Takashi beat down Ito, but he was also arrested by police with the help of Ren and Yong. In the end, Yong escort Macy back to Hong Kong.

L² Comment:  

The storyline is kinda predictable, nothing special seriously. The most exciting part will be the fighting action part, it was carried out mostly by Ekin & Tony throughout the movie. For me, Kelly Chen is really an extra of this movie, i believe any actress can take her part if it weren't of her fame...

Love in the Buff 春嬌與志明

Jimmy dated You You, a cabin crew while Cherie met the rich KL guy, Sam. Both of them experienced the life without each other but still remember each other deeply. Soon, both give up their new lover and get back to each other again...

A comedy romance sequel from "Love in a Puff", it was showed in the HK blockbuster after 2 years from the first movie. I still love the romance between the 2 of them, this time it spice up by adding 2 love rivals in their love story. And the funniest part of course is Shawn Yue pretended to be Linda Wong and sang her famous song 别问我是谁.

 Story:

 Loy is a 41-year-old bachelor who lives with his widowed mother and aunt in Wan Chai. Loy's mother, disappointed by his bachelorhood, often sets up match-making lunches for him with various girls. On the other side of Hennessy, orphaned Oi Lin lives with and works for her uncle and aunt in a bathroom appliances store on Lockhart Road. She is in a relationship with Xu, who is in prison. Her uncle, who disapproves of Xu, sets up a match-making lunch for her and Loy. Neither Loy or Oi Lin are attracted to one another, but the families continue to set up meetings for the two. After a few meetings and dates, the two eventually strike up a friendship after discovering a mutual interest in detective stories.

Both Loy and Oi Lin's families misunderstand the newfound friendship as romance and begin discussing wedding banquet arrangements. Loy explains to his mother this is not the case, and that Oi Lin has a boyfriend. Annoyed, Loy's mother calls Oi Lin's aunt and yells at her, calling her and her husband cheats. Oi Lin becomes upset with Loy, and breaks off their friendship. During this time she shares a flat with her boyfriend Xu, who has just been released from prison, and Loy gets back together with his ex-girlfriend Man Yu.

As time passes, Loy and Oi Lin grow increasingly uneasy about their relationships with Man Yu and Xu respectively. Loy tells Man Yu that he is finally in love with someone, but does not know if he is good enough for her. In the meantime, Oi Lin breaks up with Xu. Furious, Xu tracks down Loy and beats him up. Loy, though severely injured and no match for Xu, claims he is the better man because he can make Oi Lin smile. Xu finally understands, and leaves Oi Lin to get on with her life.

Loy's mother finally marries her accountant at the Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry to everyone's delight. After the wedding, Loy goes to the Cha Chaan Teng (where he'd previously had a date with Oi Lin) and finds Oi Lin. He joins her there, and the two enjoy the afternoon together.

 Hmm. how should i express my feeling after this movie? Its definitely not a romance movie; not a comedy... i can only categtorize it as a drama type. Love all of them, feel like all the actors & actresses have their own acting style, but all these styles just mix together and created a sparks~ A nice movie to watch...

Mermaid Got Married 人魚傳說

 Story:

When Zhi is young he almost drown in sea but he was saved by a mermaid. Years later Zhi grows up and become a teacher. But he was bullied by his student especially Princess & Kenji and they make him fall into the sea. Once again mermaid Mei save his life and use her pearl to save his life. 

Zhi went back to his old life while Mei become a student and went after him for her pearl. During the period, Mei discovered she has fall in love with Zhi. To prove to Zhi that he can't be in love with her, she transform into mermaid again in front of him. But the transformation has caused the greedy headmaster and other teachers caught the mermaid for sales. But Mei was later on rescued by Zhi, Kenji & Princess. She was released into the sea, Zhi has then waited for her to return. On a wedding, Zhi saw a girl looks like Mei and he went up to her. In the same moment, the headmaster and teacher use water to splash her and hope she become mermaid but failed.

But actually that girl is Mei and this time she managed to control herself and able to be with Zhi forever...

L² Comment:

I used to love this film a lot, i still do especially when Faye's Wong "Tian Shi" sang throughout the whole film. The storyline is predictable but the "romance" feel is there and quite good. Christy Chung looks so lovely and sweet that time, love her :)

Treasure Hunt 无价之宝

 Story:

 An advertisement director Winnie is willing to shoot the advertisement for Long just because she will get sponsor to shoot her own children movie. But leaving her husband and son alone make her miserable. Winnie and the crew went to the island which the pirates are aiming. Long is not really a martial arts actor but only know how to show off, luckily he was save by Xing who stay in the island together with his son. The pirates attacked but luckily all of them managed to defeat them with Xing's help. Finally the advertisement is shot and Winnie went back to see her love one.

L² Comment:

Though its a welcome movie for Cecilia Cheung to join back the entertainment of HK movie industrial, but her acting is still the same, a bit too much exaggerated... And what i hate the most is, the overall storyline together with the "not-funny-at-all" stupid jokes...yawn!!!

The Duel 決戰紫禁之巔

Story:

Nine received the order from the emperor to distribute 8 invitations card for the duel of Cool & Simon at the palace. Nine and Golden discover a mysterious behind a murder case, one of the 3 dolls' face has been destroy. And this doll will reveal who is the real guy who wanted to roll over the emperor's dynasty.

The mischievous Princess Phoenix follow along Nine and met her idol Cool. Phoenix was attracted to Cool and take risk to steal the expensive medicine to heal Cool when he is hurt during a fight. In another hand, Simon who owns a biscuit shop save Qing who has almost killed by her own master. Simon is not high profile and always stay at his shop together with Qing. Nine went to send off the invitation card while investigating the missing doll, of course at the same time he went to visit his lover Jade.

Finally the doll's reveal the truth identity, its Cool. Cool fake up someone to fight with Simon during the duel and in the same time try to kill the emperor. Nine and Simon went to help, Cool demand a real fight with Simon. After a big fight, Cool was defeated and Simon finally win in the duel and get back his life with Qing.

L² Comment:

Basically this movie is just for a laugh during the Chinese New Year time in year 2000. Surprisingly, the graphic is extremely good, not too over but enough to make you "wow" during that time. The only problem i have with this film is Ekin Chen !!! His acting is super duper bad~

The Storm Warriors 風雲 II

Story:

Lord Godless from Japan bring along his son, Heart and his armies and conquer China. They defeat Nameless and gang. But Nameless and others have took the solution and try to fight back with Lord Godless. But Lord Godless is too strong for them, even Whispering Wind and Striding Cloud can't defeat him. Therefore they have to retreat...

They met the Piggy King, Nameless request him to bring Wind and Cloud to see Lord Wicked. Lord Wicked has cut off his both hand years ago and was not able to fight against Lord Godless. So, Lord Wicked teach Wind to learn the devil wushu but he will have to control his devil heart in within. In the meanwhile, Nameless come and find Cloud and teach him all the wushu he has.

While both of them are learning new wushu, armies of Lord Godless came and attack. Left over Chu Chu and Second Dream to defeat them, when Second Dream was about to get killed, Wind came out and help, but devilish heart has control him. In another hand, Lord Godless force the China Emperor to bring him to take the King's spine, but they met up with Wind and Cloud. After a fight, both of them defeat Lord Godless and gang. But Wind gone away with the spine.

Cloud went to look for Wind, try to calm him down and call back his kind-hearted personality. But Wind kill Chu Chu but finally defeated by Cloud. Wind and Second Dream fall down the pitt of heel but Cloud went down and save them instead.

L² comment:

Personally, i prefer the first movie of the storm series. It is much more better than this one. Should be call this the storm poser instead of the storm warriors. I think the actor who has the most dialogue would be Simon Yam instead of Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok. One word, dissapointed
